Mattoon, Illinois-(Effingham Radio)-Lake Land College’s broadcast sales students have been certified as broadcast sales professionals by broadcast training firm P1 Learning in partnership with the Illinois Broadcasting Associate’s sales training program.
Students completed a variety of online video courses, tests, and assignments over a four-week period as part of a broadcast sales class at Lakeland University’s Broadcast Communications Program.
The WLKL 89.9 FM Greg Powers Communication Research / Broadcasting Instructor and Station Manager helped students prepare for accreditation and was funded by the Illinois Broadcasting Corporation (IBA) initiative. Powers also thanked the Illinois Broadcasting Corporation Chairman and CEO Dennis Lyle for the financial support of the IBA Board of Directors.
“Broadcasters are always looking for skilled employees in a variety of areas,” says Powers. “This certification is a great asset for trained students. As they progress in their careers, they will have access to several opportunities.”
P1 Learning is a nationally recognized training company that provides content on topics such as sales, leadership, management, on-air and compliance. The company also manages training for hundreds of broadcasters, companies and state broadcasters associations.
Each expert will be honored with a plaque displayed alongside the previous year’s student plaque.
